Due to raised threat, the US government has issued a travel advise for Kenya, telling its people to stay away from visiting certain areas of the nation.
The North Eastern counties of Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa have an increased number of kidnapping and terrorism cases, according to a statement released on Monday, July 31 by the American State Department.
In addition, due to the dangers of kidnapping and terrorism, the State Department advised against visiting coastal counties, notably Tana River County, Lamu County, and specified regions of Kilifi and Malindi counties.
Because of safety concerns, the State Department encouraged its people to carefully evaluate whether they should utilise the Likoni ferry in Mombasa.
The foreign authority also restricted its citizens from visiting Turkana County, especially the route from Kainuk to Lodwar, claiming the high rate of thievery and criminality there.
In addition, the State Department warned its people from visiting the Nairobi neighbourhoods of Eastleigh and Kibera due to the high frequency of violent crimes there, including armed carjacking, muggings, home invasions, and kidnapping.
