Sail for multi-day safari adventures as well as one- or half-day excursions on your own private dhow boat exploring the magical Lamu Archipelago – a rare gem in the Indian Ocean (Lamu to Kiwayu)- sleeping on the deck of age old Tusitiri Dhow. Can you think of a more unique way of soaking up the natural splendor of Kenya than on a traditional dhow?
A member of the exclusive Scandinavian-owned Enasoit Collection, Tusitiri is the most majestic private dhow – or lateen-rigged ship – in the known world, as well as the most luxuriously appointed and the most professionally run. Sailing, al-fresco dining, fresh seafood, sleep under the stars, deep sea fishing and water sports in Lamu town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is all in all a stunning way to relax, explore and unwind!
Island hopping
In true Enasoit style, life on-board is perfectly tailored for a completely unique live-aboard safari experience centered on Tusitiri’s broad deck, with cushioned seating areas and a dining area arranged around the wooden mast. At night, brass lanterns light up the deck and comfortable white linen bedrolls are set up on deck. On Tusitiri, all the beds are star-beds. World-class seafood and fresh Swahili-inspired meals are prepared in the open-air galley kitchen at the bow, and served in the shaded dining area. There are beautiful views over the ocean, quiet corners to relax, and the day-cabins below deck provide storage and changing facilities.
The Tusitiri crew comprises highly skilled Bajuni sailors whose expertise have been learned over generations, as well as second-generation Kenyan wildlife enthusiasts who act as gracious hosts and a wealth of information on the area. The highly exclusive experience is limited to only 10 guests at a time, so we’d encourage you and you to get together and book your unique private dhow safari now!
