The key to a successful brunch is a little bit of planning and creativity. The best part about planning what to bring for a brunch is that it can be as simple or as extravagant as you wish. The idea is to start with preparation. The trick is to get yourself out of the kitchen and into the action as much as possible. To that end, pre-prep as much of your brunch as you possibly can. Choose what to buy and what you can whip up in advance.

PACKING
The key is to pack light and to know how to pack. If you have a lot to take (cameras, plates, props, blankets) I suggest you buy one of the picnic baskets that come with accessories that way you can fit your food (and maybe your blanket) in there and have another wicker bag for everything else you need (trays, cameras, props, etc). Reusable containers make it easy to pack, store, and clean up. Food safety should also be front of mind. Some dishes might be okay to pack in a basket while others will require refrigeration and should be stored in a cooler or with ice packs to prevent the food from spoiling.

Be sure to keep convenience in mind while picking what to bring to your picnic brunch.
