Shakahola. Deadly fast.
Too much of something is poisonous. However, if done in a good portion, it will be benefitial. You can fast but you should not go without food for so many days. Reason? A woman, believed to be from Mackenzie’s church is receiving medical attention while being held by authorities. She has admitted that she had already been fasting for two days when she was discovered in the jungle. She continued by saying that even though she went without food or water for two days, she did not think that she was in danger of dying because she is accustomed to fasting.

On the other hand, other victims, who are thought to be members of Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Church, claimed they had been instructed to fast in order to avert “apocalyptic damnation.” Six of the 11 persons who were recovered, according to the officials, were very ill and severely malnourished.
Fasting has been practiced for centuries for both religious and health reasons. They were doing this for religious reasons.

Benefits
However, fasting has some potential benefits that include:
Weight loss: Fasting can help reduce calorie intake and lead to weight loss. When the body is in a fasted state, it begins to use stored fat as a source of energy.
Improved insulin sensitivity: Fasting can help improve insulin sensitivity, which may reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Reduced inflammation: Fasting has been shown to decrease inflammation in the body, which may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer.
Increased autophagy: Autophagy is the process by which the body cleans out damaged cells and toxins. Fasting can stimulate autophagy and help the body eliminate harmful substances.
Improved brain function: Fasting has been shown to improve cognitive function and protect against age-related cognitive decline.
It is important to note that fasting may not be appropriate for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions. It is always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any fasting regimen.
