Naivas Supermarket is set to open a new branch in Naivasha this week. However, Naivas continues with its expansion across the country.

The branch that will be located at Safari Centre in Naivasha. Its strategic location will target shoppers along the busy highway of Naivasha and it will be the third outlet in Naivasha.

“We plan to open a new branch in Naivasha at Safari Centre next week,” Naivas chief commercial officer Willy Kimani told the Business Daily.

Consequently, Naivas is facing competition with its rival quickmat which has recently opened more branches countrywide.

What the branch will offer

Nonetheless, the new outlet will offer packed food, toiletries and fast-moving consumer goods such as beverages.

According to Naivas, the outlets will target mainly travellers and thousands of shoppers in the region.

Most naivas branches are located in trategic locations to have a better competition with its rivals.

Moreover, Naivas gained financial muscle to fund the growth after raising Sh6 billion from institutional investors including Amethis Finance which took a 30 percent stake in the firm.

However, Naivas and Quickmat are feeling vacua left by beleaguered supermarkets such as Nakumatt. Tuskys, for instance, has exited most of its stores on the back of heavy debt and insufficient working capital.
