McDonald’s installs exercise bikes in some of it’s restaurants in China

A TikTok video depicting a woman in China dining at a McDonald’s while riding an exercise bike has gone viral, garnering around 35 million views in only five days as viewers are awestruck by the miracle of exercising while indulging in junk food.

The apparatus doubles as both a phone charger and an exercise bike that is linked to a table.According to a McDonald’s China blog article announcing the shop’s launch, it was initially introduced in September at a location in the southern Guangdong province that supports a low-carbon, environmentally friendly lifestyle.

The bikes’ recycled plastic construction enables users to create electricity while riding, which they can then use to power other electronic equipment like mobile phones.

Last week, the video was also published on China’s Zhengguan News. It was reposted from TikTok on Douyin China.
