Kenya and Senegal to enjoy visa-free entries

According to Alfred Mutua, secretary of state for foreign affairs, Kenya and Senegal citizens will nolonger require visa to travel.

CS Mutua said in a statement on Monday that this followed a meeting between Senegal President Macky Sall and Kenyan President William Ruto.

“It was announced that following Kenya’s earlier decision to lift visa restrictions to holders of Senegalese passports, Senegal has now reciprocated by providing free visa entry to Kenyan passport holders,” he said.

According to the CS, the action was a significant step towards fostering regional integration and promoting free movement of Africans inside Africa.

“This will grow trade between our two countries and open up tourism and education opportunities for citizens of both Nations.”

Holders of Kenyan passports will no longer need a visa to visit 44 nations and territories as of July 2023.

These countries include, among others, Botswana, Eswatini, Ghana, Gambia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, and Mozambique.
