The confession
Christine Feehan once said that betrayal is never easy to handle and there is no right way to accept it.We might find ourselves in situations where we are tempted to betray our friends but we should always learn to handle it. Grab your Ballantine’s Whisky as DANIEL NDIWA narrates the drama
‘I need you, and not him’ These were Naya’s last words before she hanged up her phone. I was now curious. I felt like getting back to her and at the same time I knew Ezra would never understand me. Am a man. I Know that right. Men are weak when it comes to ladies. We all know that.
I decided to deactivate my fisi mode and go back to her at least before Ezra could get back. So as I was driving back, a thought came in my mind. I thought maybe Naya wanted me to take part in surprising her man. Naya was that hopeless romantic kind of a lady and everything was possible. Just at the gate of their Orange house apartment, I am sure she heard a hoot and I was the first person in her mind. I could see her piping from their curtain. I wasn’t sure until i got there but she seemed to be half dressed.
So finally, the watchman opened it and I got there. On the table, there was this one of the finest blended scotch whisky, Ballantines and two glasses. I thought maybe she was having a friend or maybe she did that intentionally. “Mind grabbing a glass?’’ she asked me. “Maybe a tot’’ I smirked.
We started talking and I asked her why she couldn’t wait for me to get back together with my boys. She told me she had a lot in mind. Talk to me, I looked her straight into her eyes and she started opening up.
Naya started: You see, Ezra and I have been dating for quite some time now. You know how much we loved each other from the way he treats me. He is not what i want. I want you. Shila, your girlfriend and I have been talking and she has been telling me good things about you. I felt Ezra was less than what I need in a man. I like you. You know, I have always been excited seeing you around with my boyfriend and Abel. It’s not him that gives me endless joy and laughter whenever we tell stories as we play cards together. I pipedin his phone and I actually saw him texting other ladies but I could not confront him for some reason…
Stop there Naya! I interjected as we both imbibed our glass of ballantine. You see, I cannot betray my friend. We have been friends for over a year decade now. You are beautiful and you deserve everything good. Dating you could be a good thing but not now because you are seeing my friend. We have a few minutes now before the party starts. Let us end it here and promise me you will not bring this up again. You two can make things work. I told her.
“Hakuna comeback apo! It is better we start off our party before Chelsea could destroy the party mood.” we heard Abel’s voice from a distance
