As part of a larger aim to expand to additional secondary cities across the nation, online food delivery service Jumia Food has announced an expansion of its operations to Meru and Nanyuki in partnership with restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).
“We are committed to providing Kenyans with convenient and reliable ways to order food, regardless of where they live. We believe that the expansion to Meru and Nanyuki is just the beginning, and we look forward to bringing Jumia Food to more secondary cities in Kenya in the future,” said Patel.
Customers will now be able to purchase KFC meals from the convenience of their homes thanks to the expansion, according to Sonali Patel, commercial director of Jumia Food, who noted that there is an increasing demand for the service in up and coming towns.
With this new growth, the delivery platform’s total number of cities it serves—which already includes the capital city of Nairobi plus Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Eldoret—rises to seven.
KFC, on the other hand, has more than 35 branches around the nation.
