On Monday, March 21, several suspects stormed into Muindi Mweusi Supermarket in Tassia Estate, Embakasi, stole goods worth Ksh15 million, and then vandalized the establishment.
Peter Maguli, the operations director of the supermarket, told the media that the burglars broke into the store after it had closed for the day at around 10:00 p.m.
Maguli further claims that one of the employees was hurt by the criminals. This happened when he returned to the store after learning of the robbery. “They took advantage of the fact that the supermarket was closed early. One of our staff came back and was badly injured,” Maguli stated.
Maguli further claimed that the offenders damaged property and stole products including TVs, refrigerators, food, and other things.

He mentioned that the burglars broke the locks and threw stones at the grocery door to gain entry. Ten individuals were detained at the location by police officers who arrived 30 minutes after the robbery began. Makau Masai, the commander of the Embakasi sub-county Police, further acknowledged that officials were looking into the situation.
