China Square Rows continues

In Nairobi, outraged Nyamakima and Kamukunji traders have protested and called for the closure of China Square, which is run by Chinese businessman Lei Cheng. The Nairobi CBD area served as the site of the small-business owners’ protests against China square. When the argument over the commercial hub heated up, the traders claimed that the Chinese were encroaching on their enterprises.

The traders showed up at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s office and demanded that their companies be protected in accordance with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance platform.

Popular Kenyan Chinese Owned Store closes amid price complaints from competing retailers

The store said that lengthy lines had caused dissatisfied consumer shopping experiences and that it was attempting to fix the problem before closing. Also, the management claimed that they ceased operations to address the problem of internet misstatements. Up till further notice, China Square is closed.
