Alcohol and whiskies dispatched to London Distillers East Africa Limited amongst items to be auctioned by KRA

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) through the Customs and Border Control Department (CBCD) has recently disclosed a list of items set to be auctioned off to the public on January 5, 2023.

However, this list of products brought in between 2020 and October 2022 will be taken out of the customs warehouse and made available for inspection on January 3 and 4, 2023, according to a gazette notice published on December 2.

“Pursuant to the provisions of section 42 of the East African Community Customs Management Act, 2004, notice is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed from the Customs Warehouse within thirty (30) days from the date of this notice, they will be sold
by public auction on the 5th January 2023. Interested buyers may view the goods at the Customs Warehouse, ICDE on the 3rd and the 4th January 2023, during office hours,” reads the gazette notice.

 

Among the items are used school furniture intended for donation, kitchen cabinets, steel coils consigned to Ruiru Mabati Factory, and alcohol and whiskies consigned to London Distillers East Africa Limited.
