Crispy and Zesty Guilt-free pleasure Fish Cakes

Ingredients:

Halisi Cooking oil, 280g finely chopped white fish (catfish, or cod), 70g whole-wheat breadcrumbs, 3 tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro, 2 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce, 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 1 large egg, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ground pepper, 2 lime wedges

Instructions:

  1. Begin by coatingthe basket of the air fryer with Halisi cooking oil to prevent the fish cakes from sticking.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the finely chopped white fish, whole-wheat panko breadcrumbs, fresh cilantro, Thai sweet chili sauce, canola mayonnaise, egg, salt, and ground pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined, creating a flavorful fish cake mixture.
  3. Shape the mixture into four 3-inch-diameter cakes, ensuring they are evenly sized for even cooking.
  4. Take the prepared fish cakes and coat them with cooking spray. This will help achieve a golden, crispy exterior. Place the coated fish cakes in the air fryer basket.
  5. Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook the fish cakes for approximately 9 to 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them to ensure they are nicely browned and reach an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
  6. Once cooked to perfection, remove the air-fried fish cakes from the air fryer. Serve them on a plate, accompanied by lime wedges for that extra burst of citrusy flavor.

For the best results, select a firm white fish such as catfish, or cod. When choosing your fish, ensure it is fresh and of high quality. However, if fresh fish is not available, frozen white fish can be a suitable alternative. Just make sure to properly defrost it and pat it dry before incorporating it into the recipe.
