A Walk Inside the Supreme Court Museum

There are a number of museums in Kenya. One of the most exciting museums to visit is the Supreme Court museum that has a lot of story to tell.

The museum is located in the Eastern wing of the Supreme Court Building basement, which is one of its kind in East Africa and beyond, showcases the rich history of the Judiciary.

When visiting the museum, you will find this writing:

“It was inspired by the need to open up the Judiciary to the public in line with Pillar 1 of the Judiciary Transformation Framework on People-Centredness and Public Engagement,” the Judiciary stated on its website.

Recently , the judiciary announced fre entry yo its museums based in the basement of the court building. It is opened from 9 am to 5pm working days.
It was once a cell for political detainees. It now tells the story of the judiciary. There were a total of 12 cells.

In the museum, you will find pictures of former vice resident Jaramogi Odinga, Former prime minister Raila Odinga, and Prof. Wangari Maathai. Also, you will find trial papers used to detain Dedan Kimathi.
It is a one of a kind place to visit.
